Summerfield Old Boys 60th Anniversary

The Summerfield (Rocket) Research Station (Droitwich side of Kidderminster) formally opened in Jan 1952 and so Jan 2012 is the 60th Anniversary of the site. Original members of the staff will be at Space Day celebrating 60 years of Rocket Research and Production at Summerfield. If you’re an Ex Summerfield employee and want to meet up with former colleagues or someone who would like to know more about the trials and tribulations of rocket research in the 1950’s & 60’s come along to Space Day.


The British Interplanetary Society (BIS) – West Midlands Group (The organisers of this event!)

The BIS is the oldest space society in the world and in a new venture is establishing regional groups. The West Midland Group intend to hold four events a year – this being its first. Keep a look out for future events!
