14.00 -14.15 – Meet old and new BIS member’s friends and colleagues.
14.15 – 15.15 – The talk will begin with an introduction to the main types of rocket and the handling and properties of various liquid oxidisers. I will discuss the challenges of hybrid rocket design and some of the ways we are dealing with these in the hybrid development programme including:
- Catalyst pack development
- The 6-inch chamber development programme (including the development of the hybrid combustion model)
- HTP pump development
- Monopropellant testing
- Development of the 18-inch hybrid chamber
I will then summarise the next stage of the Bloodhound programme. I will include a general summary of Falcon’s background and capabilities.
